Underwater Grip and Camera Work

I did underwater work for this video. It entailed helping lighting with blacking the bottom of the pool and some camera work.

Sculpting Update: the Dragon and Pumpkin

I've been more faithfully working on my sculpting as of late. The chinese dragon is coming along, as you can see below.

I've still got some work on the lower jaw, and of course the neck. But the rest of him is getting close to being about finished.

The pumpkin is another project that I started before the dragon. I just had to finish it off. I was delaying for various reasons until this week, when I got it as far as I was interested in without some feedback from my teacher.

I felt like I reached a benchmark though the last two weeks. I definitely put more TLC and just time generally into it. I built a new sculpting board and screwed a tool container onto it; that took some effort in and of itself.

Then last week I had to shorten Mr. Dragon so I could harvest the plasticine from his neck; I was running out, or coming close to it.

I'd really like to sculpt an entire dragon, but this was a start down that path. I am still quite the newbie/amateur, or at least I definitely feel like it.

Unexpected But Appreciated Feedback

So I got some unexpected feedback for my work yesterday.

I've been working on this Temple Open House Training video for female missionaries. It's been going since last November, and it just wrapped up last week (Actually, we're doing a reissue in order to change some textual details, but other than that its finished).

Anyway, I was talking with a few sisters that serve in our LDS congregation. I'd spoken with them previously, so they were aware of my involvement with the project, and then yesterday, told excitedly told me they'd seen the videos, and that they were great. I was flattered.

It's always good (but rare for me since working at the LDS Motion Picture Studio unfortunately) to get direct feedback for my work from the intended audience.

I don't know if its a publicly accessible link, but if it is, I'll post the videos here.
